Meet Emanuele Arcà, an OPEN Health Scientific Trailblazer

A thought leader in the digital health space, Emanuele Arcà stands at the forefront of a transformative era in health economics and outcomes research (HEOR) as pharma companies and healthcare professionals grapple with artificial intelligence (AI) and how best to apply it.
Emanuele’s most recent article, The Rise of Artificial Intelligence for Evidence Synthesis and Analysis, outlines how AI can be an indispensable tool in evidence synthesis, streamlining literature review, enhancing efficiency, and contributing to the robust generation of evidence for informed decision-making in healthcare.
He has presented his research at many industry conferences and worked across a wide range of therapeutic areas with products in all stages of development. He was a panelist at this year’s HTAi conference in a session titled What Should Patient Engagement Look Like Under the New EU HTA Regulation: Panel Session on Methods of Engagement and he also presented a poster about using the results of consensus exercises in health technology assessments (HTAs).
He began his career working in European Union (EU) public health and health economics and policy, with an emphasis on policy, law, and international collaboration. Driven by a passion for co-creation, Emanuele has, since the inception of his career, focused on initiatives to provide access to health innovations.
His policy acumen and digital health expertise, coupled with more than 7 years of HEOR and strategic market access experience, give him a highly informed perspective on the recent EU HTA regulation, allowing him to help position clients to respond strategically to it. He takes a multidimensional approach to meeting clients’ needs, one that brings together our services across a range of disciplines, including modeling and meta-analysis, real-world evidence, and patient-centered outcomes.
Emanuele is now the Strategic Market Access team lead, as well as a member of OPEN Health’s Scientific Office, led by Elisabeth Fenwick. By virtue of his thought leadership and innovative approaches to achieving clients’ goals, Emanuele has been named a Scientific Trailblazer at OPEN Health.
